About

Corporate designer turned wood-turner & maker.

After being a part of corporate America and sitting at a desk everyday for over 15 years, my artist's soul was aching for something new. Something tangible. My jobs had been heavily digital focused as a graphic designer, photographer, and creative director.

I was in the mood for a hands on adventure and a return to slow art.

Coincidentally, as a lover of all things nature and woodland, I fell in love with the wood working movement in the UK and tiny bud vases transformed from solid wood logs holding precious dried flowers, and I just had to know how to do that.

My new hubby, who is a talented builder, encouraged me to buy my first mini lathe and give it a go.

It was addictive. And a great outlet to focus my mind. I found that you can't think of all the million things in your head when you are working with wood and tools. You have to focus and let all the other outside noise drift away. It's just you and your craft.

I have since become a Certified Practitioner of Art Therapy and  incorporated a laser into my shop to make CraftTherapy Kits™. The power of crafting things with your hands has profound positive effects on mental wellness. Ready to get crafty? Try one today!
